Caitlin Kalinowski is one of the world’s leading voices in hardware engineering, best known for her pioneering work leading the AR Hardware team at Reality Labs, Meta, for the past 11 years. With a proven track record as a seasoned leader in consumer technology, she previously spearheaded VR Hardware, driving innovations behind products like the Meta Quest 2, Touch controllers, Oculus Rift, Go, and Rift S. Before her time at Meta, Kalinowski was a technical lead at Apple, where she played a critical role in the development of the Mac Pro and MacBook Air, and was an integral part of the original unibody MacBook Pro teams. Her contributions to the industry have positioned her at the forefront of AR, VR, and computing hardware.
For the past five years, Kalinowski has and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Axon, an organization with a mission to cut gun-related deaths between police and the public in half by 2033. Kalinowski is also a strategic advisor to Lesbians Who Tech, the largest LGBTQ professional network globally and the leading women’s tech conference. Her leadership, vision, and commitment to championing diversity in the workplace make her a sought-after voice shaping the future of technology.
A Stanford University graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Kalinowski is committed to technical excellence and deeply passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in tech. She believes that the future of product design must be shaped by voices from diverse backgrounds to create the most innovative and effective solutions.
