The MacBook Air is a line of laptop computers developed and manufactured by Apple Inc. It consists of a full-size keyboard, a machined aluminum case, and a thin, light structure.

At the launch of the MacBook Air it was not only the thinnest laptop in the world, but thinner by a wide margin compared to the mainstream of laptops at the time. MacBook Air – through both total component integration and use of an entirely new class of Intel processors at a lower TDP and level of integration than previously available – was the first of a new wave of thin performance laptops.
