The Quest’s design builds upon the Oculus Go, offering significant upgrades including a more powerful graphics chip, active cooling, and advanced 6DOF tracking—leaps beyond the Go’s three-degrees-of-freedom. Weighing 571 grams (20.1 oz), the Quest balances comfort and power, providing a standalone VR experience without the need for external sensors or a PC. Its battery delivers up to 2–3 hours of usage, making it ideal for extended gameplay or VR experiences.

Caitlin’s engineering team continually pushed the boundaries of what was possible, and in November 2019, they introduced Oculus Link, a transformative feature that allowed users to connect the Quest to a PC via a USB cable. This innovation enabled access to a wider library of PC VR games, blending the freedom of mobile VR with the enhanced performance of PC gaming.
